LearnWorlds Pricing Overview
I have been using LearnWorlds for a number of years and have seen it go through a few iterations and upgrades.

LearnWorlds is brilliant. It might be slightly pricier than some of the other options out there. But as with many things in life, you get what you pay for.
The platform was set up in 2014 and has gone from strength to strength since its start. LearnWorlds now boasts thousands of customers across 120 countries, offering a variety of features including:
- Build awesome courses
- Market and Sell courses
- Create School Website
- Reports & Insights
- Build mobile app
Quite simply, LearnWorlds wants to be the best.
And this is obvious.
They’ve recently received over $32million in Growth Funding – so we can only see the features and abilities of this tremendous platform grow.
LearnWorlds Pros
- The website builder. For many, this is a huge pro. You have full control over how you want your online school’s website and web pages to look. You can edit the HTML and CSS, something which a lot of other platforms just don’t offer.
- Customer support – I have personally found the customer support from LearnWorlds second to none. They reply to queries and help solve your issues incredibly quickly. Not only this, but they have a great help centre which is available 24/7 and is packed with how-to’s and guides. I’ve used these multiple times and find them well-written and often avoid the need to contact a member of the LearnWorlds team.
LearnWorlds Cons
- Unlike a lot of other online course platforms, LearnWorlds has a bit of a learning curve. However, once you get used to it, the possibilities for what you can do within the platform are pretty much endless.
Does LearnWorlds have a free plan?
In a word: no. LearnWorlds does not have a free plan.
However, they do have a 30 day free plans on all of their plans. Within this free trial, there are no transaction fees.
Beyond this free trial, you need to subscribe to continue to access the plan’s features.
Are free plans even worth it?
I discussed this question in my review of Podia’s pricing plans also. And since writing that post, my views on free plans for online course platforms haven’t changed.
Straight up: I just don’t think that free plans for online course platforms are worth it.
And I don’t think that it’s a bad thing that LearnWorlds do not offer a free plan.
As I’ve discussed previously, the free plans that some online course platforms offer aren’t as ‘free’ as they make out. For example, some ‘free’ plans take a $5 cut of every course sale you make. Therefore, by the time you’ve sold just a handful of courses, you’ve already paid the equivalent of a payment plan to that online course provider, but you haven’t benefited from the upgraded features.
LearnWorlds Starter plan does charge a $24 per month fee, plus take a $5 cut on each online course sale you make. For this reason, and using my logic above, I’d be tempted to skip the Starter plan and head straight for the Pro Trainer plan.
Does LearnWorlds take a percentage of course fees?
Yes and no.
LearnWorlds doesn’t take a percentage of your course fees, however, if you are on the Starter plan they do take a $5 fee for every course you sell.
These $5 fees can rack up quickly, so I’d recommend skipping the Starter plan and heading straight for the Pro Trainer plan instead. You’ll quickly save the money you would have given LearnWorlds in all of those five dollars for every course sale and you’ll get a tonne of extra features by going onto the Pro Trainer plan.

The Mover Plan is $29 per month. If you pay annually, this price drops to $24 per month, giving you an annual saving of 17%.

Transaction Fees
With the exception of the Starter Plan, the money which you earn through sales is yours.
The only charges taken from your course sales will be from Stripe of PayPal (depending on which you choose to manage your payments) and this covers your standard processing fees.

Coupon Codes
On every LearnWorlds plan, you can create coupons and discount codes to give to your students. These coupons can be ongoing, expire after a certain date, and can also be individualised for use on sites such as Groupon.
Certificates of Completion
Certificates of completion are a nice touch to engage your students and entice them into completing the whole of your course.
Certificates help students show off what they have learned and achieved through completing your course. This is great for students to then use for CPD, show to their employers, or just to add to their social media profiles (which also acts as some advertising for you!).
LearnWorlds also comes with additional features whereby students need to pass an assessment with a certain minimum score before a certificate will be released. Also, you can set the course so certain sections need to be completed before the certificate can be accessed.
If you don’t add your own certificate, LearnWorlds has a standard one that will be amended automatically for your course. Equally, you can create your own certificate and then follow the information and guide on LearnWorlds to have your own personalised certificate available for your students.
Video
One of the best features of LearnWorlds (in my humble opinion) is its video editor.
You can edit any uploaded video by adding in questions over the top, explainer pop-ups, transcripts. If you can dream it, the video creator can probably do it.
This is a great feature to keep your students engaged in their learning.
You can also set watch time. This means that your students need to watch a certain amount of your video before the activity is marked as complete and allows your students to move on to the next section of your course.
Payment Plans
If you set up Stripe as your payment gateway then you can collect your course’s fees via recurrent payments rather than as a one-time payment.
This works great for high-ticket items or memberships. It also means that a product that might be a little costly upfront for some students is suddenly more affordable on a payment plan.
Payment plans are easy to set up from within LearnWorlds and, if used for memberships, can mean a good steady stream of income.
Upsells
When you sell your courses in LearnWorlds, you can create upsell funnels and sell students’ courses as part of a bundle, or offer another product for a discount.
When your students go to the checkout, you can select for the student/customer to get money off another bundle or product if they purchase it whilst purchasing their current course or download.
It’s a win-win situation where your student gets more for a discount and you make an additional sale.
Drip Content
When you create an online course in LearnWorlds, you can decide if you want your students to access all of the content on enrollment, or if you want them to access it as drip content.
Available on all of LearnWorlds’s plans, drip content helps maintain your students’ engagement and means that students are more likely to complete your course.
When creating drip content, you can set when you want your students to access certain modules of your course and in which order. LearnWorlds allows you to create pre-requisites, setting certain tasks which must be completed before the next section of content will be made available.
Additionally, you can set content to be made available after a certain time period. For example, you might want to have someone access module 2, 7 days after they have purchased and accessed module 1 of a course.
Equally, you might want lesson 2 to be made available 24 hours after accessing lesson 1. It’s completely up to you.
Within the drip content feature, you can access drip emails. This means that you can customise and automate emails within LearnWorlds which are automatically sent to your students when a new section of their course is available to them.
Affiliate Program
LearnWorlds has a very decent affiliate marketing platform built into it, which is available on the Pro Trainer plan and above. From the dashboard, you can organise all of your affiliate information. On the Learning Centre Plan, you get advanced affiliate management.
Affiliate marketing management means that you can give your students a custom commission for any product, course, or download which they sell through their affiliate link.
You can keep your affiliate programme private, or make it available to anyone to use.
Custom Domains & Subdomains
Every LearnWorlds school will automatically be given a subdomain which will be something like https://MYAWESOMELEARNWORLDSSCHOOL.learnworlds.com.
All of Podia’s plans allow you to have a custom domain name, for example, https://MYAWESOMELEARNWORLDSSCHOOL.veritysangan.com or https://MYAWESOMELEARNWORLDSSCHOOL.com.
Setting up a custom domain is an easy process within Podia and is usually active within 24 hours (although my experience was a lot quicker!!).
This is a nice touch as having a custom domain/subdomain brings your domain in line with your branding.
LearnWorlds Alternatives
LearnWorlds’s Customer Support
My personal experience with LearnWorlds’s customer support has been nothing short of amazing. Regardless of which pricing plan you are on, you have access to LearnWorlds’s live chat, email contact, and help centre.
I have contacted LearnWorld’s customer support numerous times over the last few years of using them and I always find their customer support second to none. They get back to you really quickly. They also have a handy feature where if you ask for something which they don’t offer, they ping the idea off to the development team. I’ve seen a few of my suggestions eventually come to fruition, but this could be a complete coincidence!

Overall, LearnWorlds has a range of plans which will suit a variety of budgets and needs.
Although not commonly spoken of in the world of Thinkific and Teachable, LearnWorlds is a top contender in the online course platform world and should seriously be considered by anyone looking to create an online course.
